What is Botox?
Botulinum toxin, one of the brand names of which is Botox®, is a protein synthesized in a laboratory in liquid form that has several uses.
Your facial expressions, sun exposure and the passage of years produce wrinkles. In aesthetic medicine, botulinum toxin is used primarily to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and to prevent the formation of new ones. These wrinkles are particularly visible on the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabella) and beside the eyes (crow's feet).
You can achieve a rejuvenated appearance with botulinum toxin injections (such as Botox®, Xeomin® and Dysport®). These three molecules generally have a similar effect in most people, but they have some more distinct characteristics. In addition, there are several other uses for botulinum toxin, such as adjusting the height and shape of eyebrows or slimming the lower face without surgery by relaxing the jaw muscles.
In general medicine, botulinum toxin can be used to treat muscle spasms of the eyelids and face, certain types of migraines and excessive sweating of the armpits and hands, among other things.
Normally, the effect of botulinum toxin is seen after 1 to 7 days and relaxes the muscles of the face to reduce wrinkles. The injection is done with a small, very fine needle. The procedure is not painful, often described as being little more than a mosquito bite.
The effect of the botulinum toxin lasts on average 3 months, after which a maintenance treatment can be done to restore the full effect. The treatment is very safe and possible side effects (eg drooping eyelid) are very rare and virtually all disappear fairly quickly if they occur. And the good news is that the more you treat an area of the face, the more facial wrinkles disappear and the longer the results last. The goal is to give you a rejuvenated look by relaxing the facial muscles, while preserving enough facial movement to avoid the appearance of a "frozen face.

Precautions to take :
Even if it is not cosmetic surgery, but injections, botox is a very active product.
Remember that only doctors specializing in the following fields are authorized to perform these injections (for medical or cosmetic purposes, depending on the specialty)
